Dragões v Braga match preview

By: j | January 23rd, 2009

After being held to a nil draw against Trofense, the azuis e brancos have tumbled from first in the table and face a critical test against Braga.

In addressing the match Porto manager Jesualdo Ferreira is aware of the difficult challenge:

“We always regard the forthcoming match as the most important one. We’ll face a great team, which is doing a good job in the European competitions. I’m sure that Braga is among the teams that can fight for the Portuguese title. This match is the beginning of an important sequence to us and we know it’s going to be difficult.

“We’ve had other very difficult matches and we can learn from the past experiences. We know Braga well and they know us very well too. We’ll have to show three major qualities in order to be successful in this match: ambition, humility and competency.

“F.C. Porto is creating many chances and scoring few and as visiting team we score more and create fewer opportunities. There’s a problem of efficiency at home but those factors, of mental and tactical nature, have to be practiced.”

For the match he has listed the following players:

Nelson Benítez, Bruno Alves, Aly Cissokho, Ernesto Farías, Fernando, Jorge Fucile, Freddy Guarín, Helton, Hulk, Lisandro López, Lucho González, Mariano González, Nuno, Pedro Emanuel, Raul Meireles, Cristian Rodríguez, Rolando, Cristian Săpunaru, Tomás Costa.
