Maicon signs with Porto

Os Dragões bolstered its back-line with the addition of Maicon from CD Nacional. The twenty year-old former Cruzeiro man agreed to terms that will see him a part of Jesualdo Ferreira’s side through June of 2014.

In joining the azuis e brancos, the young defender noted:

“It’s the happiest day of my life. Porto are one of the best and most respected clubs in Europe. I’ve always dreamed of playing in the Champions League because it’s a great stage. Porto have a tradition in the competition and I hope I can maintain that.”

After considerable thought this will serve as my final post. If you care to apply for this blog please contact Daryl with The Offside (click here) after reviewing the guidelines at www.theoffside.com/bloggers.

I saw your headline and just about did a spit-take with my coffee. Before my brain fully engaged I thought someone terribly dire had happened at Inter!

Whew. Good to know there are at least two Maicons!
