Porto climbs back on top with victory over Braga
By: j | January 24th, 2009
In conjunction with their 2-0 victory over Braga on Saturday and both Benfica and Sporting playing to a draw, the Dragões climb back on top of the Portuguese Liga.
Twenty minutes into the match Cristian Rodríguez displayed brilliant control before volleying in the ball from close range to give the azuis e brancos the 1-0 lead. Only eleven minutes later Albicelestes capped Lisandro López increased the lead as he collected Hulk’s remarkably well weighted long provision before professionally dispatching the ball into the net. With the lead, Porto efficiently controlled the run of the match with a strong defensive net and Helton was barely disturbed as the match concluded with a 2-0 victory for Jesualdo Ferreira’s side.
Porto returns to action next Sunday against Belenenses.

Thanks for stopping by. With only this and Benfica’s blog active its very quiet in here.
Both goals were beautiful, the touch on Cristian Rodríguez’s goal was perfect and the long pass from Hulk was incredible.
Thanks again -

Nelson from NYC- Thank you, I honestly appreciate that. I know it is very quiet in the Portugal section and if there is anything readers want to hear more of please just let me know. It would be my honour to help.
