A half-hour or so north of Porto is the beautiful city of Braga. Filled with stunning architectural reminders of it’s rich heritage, Braga is equally a vibrant city growing with economic diversity. It was also the home for this weekends four-team tournament including Leixões S.C., S.C. Braga and Cagliari of Serie A.

Cagliari, from picturesque Sardinia, met Porto today in Braga as a perfect wind-up to the tournament for Porto supporters as the Seria A squad was steamrollered 4-1. The duo of Mariano González and Lisandro López continued at last seasons pace, with Lisandro adding a brace before the thirty minute mark. Of notable mention was how new defenders Cristian Săpunaru and Rolando worked seamlessly into the starting lineup, with Cagliari’s opportunities few and far between. At the start of the second half Jesualdo Ferreira brought in Cristian Rodríguez, Hulk, Jorge Fucile and Tomás Costa with Candeias and Mario Bolatti entering the match later. Fittingly the match concluded with Hulk scoring his first goal for the Dragões.
